Wedding FAQ
When is the RSVP deadline?
May 1st, 2022
Plus Ones?
We are keeping this celebration intimate. If you have plus one noted on your invitation, you may bring someone! If not, we ask that you please limit attendance to those named on your invitation. Thank you for your understanding!
What about children?
We request that children be dropped at the truly awesome childcare fort for the duration of our event. Not joking about how cool the place is – David and I made a point to check it out on our tour because part of the facility is literally a castle.
Is there a wedding registry?
We are filled with joy that you will be joining us, and we consider it a gift that you would spend so much time and energy to travel and celebrate our relationship. If you still feel that you would like to give a gift, please consider a donation to the Environmental Voter Project.
What is the dress code?
Formal, Black-Tie Optional
Our theme is heavily art deco inspired. It will feature rich jewel tones (blues,
greens, and purples), golds (and other metallics), and black. While we leave
your attire up to you, we do hope this information inspires you to show up at your
most elegant, glamorous, and Gatsby!
What are the expectations for the ceremony?
We will be having an unplugged ceremony at our wedding. While we fully
encourage everyone to bring their phones and cameras to document the day we
politely request that all devices be turned off during the ceremony. Once we
receive the professional images from our photographer after the wedding, we will
be happy to send them to you!
Travel FAQ
What will the weather be like?
The weather will likely be warm, balmy, and hopefully full of sunshine! Make sure to bring your sunscreen and blotting tissues, and maybe an umbrella if you’re planning on staying for a few days. Showers can come and go in a snap!
And if you’re going into the parks, comfortable shoes are essential.
What do you NEED to bring?
All we think you’ll need for the wedding day is your formal gear. We are so
looking forward to partying in style with you all. The rest of your luggage can be typical tropical and/or theme park vacation fare.
Gum and Stuff
Do you love gum? If so, pack some before you leave, otherwise you’ll have to leave the Disney Bubble to purchase any. The same with razors, so if you need them, make sure to bring those with you as well. Everything else is easy to
purchase at your hotel/on property.
Transport
You will be flying into the Orlando Airport! There are a few options to get you from the airport to your hotel. As always, there is Uber, Lyft, or taxi for the brave of heart. We are sorry to say the free transport between the airport and WDW has been discontinued, but there are two pay to use bus shuttle systems available (assuming you are staying at a Disney Hotel). Your options are Sunshine Flyer (https://sunshineflyer.com/), which is $34 per person round trip, or Mears Connect (https://www.mearsconnect.com/), which will be priced to your specifications.
If you are staying in a Disney hotel, you can get around using complimentary transportation (and Uber when you’re in a hurry). If you prefer to stay elsewhere, you may want to consider renting a car. (If not, you will be ridesharing quite often!) If you are renting a car, keep in mind that the Disney hotels and parks are going to have parking fees, and that our wedding venue is valet parking only. Disney Springs, however, has free parking, and you can still use Disney transport for free from there.
Where to Stay?
It can be very, very hard to choose a place to stay in or around Walt Disney World, because the options are seemingly endless, but here are a few of our
favorites:
- Coronado Springs
- Port Orleans French Quarter
- The Polynesian
- Swan and Dolphin
- Pop Century
David and I will be splitting our stay before/during the wedding between The Four
Seasons and Coronado Springs, and we will spend a couple days after the
wedding at the Universal hotels. We encourage you to explore all of your options
– there are great accommodations everywhere.
Disney hotels tend to be convenient (if you plan on entering the parks), but also
the most pricey. You will definitely be able to find more affordable options
elsewhere. For example, there are incredible condos just off property that are
both inexpensive and very, very nice.
Universal hotels are cheaper than Disney hotels (especially the Value resorts)
and offer excellent perks if you are planning to spend time at Universal Studios.
The biggest perk to staying on property is free transport between all of the
Disney World locations. You may end up waiting quite a while, but it is free!
Most places offer bus transportation, but certain resorts offer boat transport or
the Skyliner (the new gondola system). A few deluxe resorts are also on the
Monorail track. If you stay off property, would likely need a rental car, and you’ll
have to pay for parking when attending the parks.
There are a limited amount of rooms available at a discounted rate for our
wedding weekend (5-13, 5-14 and 5-15) at the Four Seasons. If you are
interested, please reach out and we will connect you with the hotel.
There are countless things to do and, most importantly, places to eat in Orlando.
Celeste is happy to help you plan some of your must-dos if you need any
suggestions.
